Sulphur Grove Quilt Shop is a fun and relaxing place to hang out. The shop is run by Carol Doolin and Shari Hawthorne. Stop by the shop and say hi! (Photo: Carol, on the right, helps a customer select fabric.)
While you're here, say "hi" to Lenny, our shop mascot. He won't be able to hear you because he's deaf; but he will certainly appreciate a little scratch behind his ears. Just don't let him talk you into letting him go outside, because he's an indoor-only kitty.
Sulphur Grove Quilt Shop was established July of 2005. The area in which the shop is located (Taylorsville Road and Brandt Pike in Huber Heights, Ohio) is rich with heritage. "Sulphur Grove Village" was established in 1810 in Wayne Township as part of Montgomery County. The first settlement was Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church, which still stands today. The quilt shop, built in the 1950's, was originally a diner which served meals to men working on the construction of Interstate 70.
